Brick video

Yehuda in a bucket

Mommy look what I found...

You never know what the answer is going to be. Maybe a bug of some kind, a missing toy piece (theres always hope). I definitely was not expecting this one. Ben comes from behind the house carrying this huge brick! I was on the phone with Aunt Linda at the time, but he definitely had my attention. And now he has yours too! For those of you who can't see the video, he tells me where he found it and then tells me we should look for more because maybe we could build a house! How funny.

ok i waited an hour for the video to upload but it never did. any tips are welcome.

anyway...

You would think they would pass out right away when its time to go to bed. Well Yakov does, but Avi and Ben have more energy than anyone can imagine. So daddy bought them all doodle pro magnetic pen drawing boards. For now the twins are allowed to doodle until its lights out. Its really cute to see what they doodle. Avi gets a lot of aggression out, he'll scribble the whole thing black. Meanwhile Ben uses the stencil that came with it and carefully traces and colors in the stencil with so much patience.

The Grove

I took 2 boys with me to the Grove last week (an outdoor mall that looks like a movie set). It was so nice to just have to boys with me, I was able to give them each so much more of my attention. It was fairly easy to decide who stayed home. The baby and Avi. Oh don't worry we had our fun in the morning. We all went out in our backyard and I climbed on a ladder and picked lemons from our lemon tree! Yeah how cool is that?! Then we took them inside and washed them, and followed a recipe in a kids cookbook to make... yup you guessed it lemonade! I let them each have a turn juicing lemons on an electric juicer.

Yehuda watched.

Then when we got to the grove we saw sculptures of a lemonade stand! That was neat - no I didn't plan that- Yakov and Ben were so easy to be with. I took them to Barnes and Nobles and read them stories, gave them pennies to throw into the fountain... it was fun.

Train Party

We had a birthday party to go to on Sunday, a girl from bubbies house, her mom called us and said that her daughter still talks about Avi, Ben and Yakov and insisted that they come to her party. Well I was so happy that the theme for once was not princesses this time the theme was trains! So I dressed the boys in their Thomas the train T-shirts and they got to ride a real train around the neighborhood. Everytime the train took off the parents cheered, take your time have fun! Then when the boys came back they asked to go on again, SURE! So they rode the train about 4 times and had lunch and cake. Hey that was a whole morning.

Last week it was so hot I decided we should clean the toys in the backyard. So we filled a big bucket with soapy water and gave the kids a hose and stepped aside. It was fun. They had hours of fun and by the end of it they decided that they were going to take their baths outside too! The each took turns climbing into the bucket and at one point there were two inside. Maybe its time to buy a kiddie pool.

Don't think Yehuda missed out on the fun. We took another bucket and put him in to with a couple balls. He had a blast. And man was he cute!

keeping busy

Well we are keeping busy, thats for sure. I have activities planned out for every day. Today we went to the Zimmer Museum for kids, a hands on museum that I used to take the boys there all the time when they were younger, before they started daycare. Its been almost 2 years since we went there and I was so amazed at how much they have grown since we were last there. Now they have the skills to really use their imaginations to pretend! There was a play restaurant and Ben put on an apron and started serving all the mommies plastic food on plates he even handed out menus.

This morning we had a Farsi class. I take the boys to a persian woman's home where she runs a daycare and she tutors me and the boys in Farsi. We have learned quite a bit already and its fun for them too! I have to write everything down so I can remember it, and I review it with the boys whenever I can. However I try to encourage their father to speak to them because he knows Farsi way better than me. So once a week for an hour we speak only Farsi at the class. The teacher is great, today she took out Mr. Potato Heads and we practiced the parts of the body as we played. Also every time we greet each other its in Farsi, that's great for me, I need that kind of Farsi vocabulary. Now I can properly greet my in-laws in their native language! Last week when I spoke to my mother in law over the phone while she was in Europe I told her I missed her and hoped to see her soon - All in Farsi! She was impressed. Mind you I was reading off an index card, but I'm learning.

Joey's Gym

On Wednesdays the boys go to a gym class called Joey's Gym. They do all kinds of activities from climbing to rolling to swinging from monkey bars. They are the stars of the class, no fear whatsoever! The instructor is phenomenal he has the kids laughing the whole time. The best part is that the parents get to sit back and watch. Look closely thats not the same kid rolling over, I got each one.
