My Birth Story
After my due date came and went I began to get anxious. Truth be told, I had been ready to deliver 2 weeks earlier! But the contractions were not there. I went to see my doctor, totally open to the idea of inducing me. He said the fluid around the baby was less than last week so he said I needed to be induced. I was so relieved. I just wanted to have the baby already and not have to play the waiting game and keep answering phone calls to those checking to see if I was still pregnant. So I was scheduled to be induced the next morning. Tuesday at 8a.m. I got to the hospital. By 8p.m. visitors were already arriving to meet the new baby. So I was in labor for around 12 hrs. I had petocin, then an epidural. I was not in too much pain. The epidural was the scariest part. But well worth it. I kept contracting but barely felt it. Then every couple hours I dialated more and more. Then came time to push and he was out in only 4 pushes. I had great nurses, they made the experience comfortable. My doctor was great too, he had good confidence in me. I have given birth to 4 healthy boys, but each birth was so unique. I still must say that the twins birth was by far the easiest. Mostly because they were so tiny. I did not have or need an epidural with them. Yakov's birth was the hardest. I waited too long before I had the epidural. But this birth I was able to relax and to a certain extent enjoy the whole experience.
New Baby
He's here! The newest addition to our family. He was born Tuesday December 18th 2007 at 7:11p.m. 8 lbs 7 oz. a full head of dark hair and what looks like dark eyes too. He will be given a name next wednesday at his bris.
Yosef took the boys to see me at the hospital and thats when they met their new little brother. They each got to hold him. Then they all climbed up onto mommy's bed. They were so excited. Yosef said when he lifted Yakov up to see the baby in his bassinet Yakov's heart was beating so fast!
We just celebrated the baby's 1st shabbat and Yakov was so cute, he said now he's not the last one to get a bracha (Yosef and I bless the boys in age order every friday night) in his exact words "I'm not last, that guy is!" (pointing to the baby)
It has been so nice having my mom here and my Bubbie too. (her mom) They were both there to witness the birth of my mom's 10th grandchild. They are having so much fun watching the boys interact. I need to write down all the hilarious stuff they say. (next time)
So now I am home recovering and adjusting to having 4 sons. I have plenty of help and support. Just preparing now for the bris.

Still Pregnant
Well its December 9th and I am still pregnant. My due date is this coming Saturday Dec 15th. Everyone is excited around here. The boys know that their Bubbies are coming to visit them on Thursday. "Bubbie Gerrie" my grandmother/ Bubbie, and their Bubbie, my mom who they call "Bubbie Goose". My mom made a Cd of music for the boys called Bubbie Goose Unplugged and the boys just put it together. Cute.
The boys are so adorable. Lately as you can imagine things are getting a bit crowded in our 2 bedroom apartment. The other day I was on the kitchen and Ben was trying to get something, however the boys are in my blind spot (just under my belly) I can't see them so I end up bumping them out of the way. Its pretty funny. So when I bumped Ben in the kitchen he said to me "That's OK mommy, it was an accident the baby is getting bigger" What a sweetie!
A few nights ago I was having some contractions that kept me up most of the night. The next morning I convinced Yosef to take the morning drive to daycare. Thankfully he agreed. So while I got the clothes out for the boys to get dressed and their Daddy was offering to make me coffee or tea. So Ben came up to me and asked if I want a cup of tea with lots of sprinkles. So cute, that's what I put on their yogurt to make them happy. Then Yakov brought me a bottle of vitawater. I give them vitawater when they are sick to rehydrate them. He told me to drink it so I can get better. Just to show each of their personalities in their true light, Avi came up to my belly and started disciplining the baby "Stop hurting mommy, baby that's not nice"
So we keep waiting, could be any day now... I'll keep you posted.
