Daddy time

Yosef also likes to give the boys special time with Daddy. He took them to the park and Avi got a bit over excited. So Yosef told him to relax, and chill out. Then Yakov joined in and told Avi to chill out. Well Avi looked at Yakov confused and said "Are you talking to me?" to which Yakov replied "No, I'm talking to the trees!" Daddy got a good laugh from that one.

Mommy's little helper

So I like to give each boy a bit of one on one time with mommy. The other day it was Yakov's turn. We baked banana bread. He was in the kitchen helping me and I was going over the recipe out loud and said ok we need 4 bananas 4 eggs some baking soda... so then Yakov goes to where we keep the soda cans and brings me a can of 7up and says "heres the soda mommy" how cute!

Good Morning

Ok now that the boys are in school for 6 1/2 hrs I have a bit more time on my hands - though its temporary I know- I'm having some fun blogging my life. So this morning I took out the camera and heres what it looks like getting the boys ready in the morning.

Well I have trained the twins to get themselves dressed before waking up mommy. Only took 3 1/2 years but well worth it. Yakov still needs some help. When they are all dressed they sit at the table and then its breakfast time

I have even trained my little monkeys to clear their bowls and put them in the sink. Then they all brush their teeth and I brush their hair... and we're set to go!

A peek into the kids room. They love their trains. Of course we have 3 different types of tracks to assemble and a whole box of trains and cars and trucks. (Still not enough) They each have their own space in their room with their own bed and book cubbie. I painted their name signs with my neighbor Shana, but I had to hang them pretty high so that they couldn't touch them. I have so much fun decorating their room. I hang the artwork they make at school above their beds, they take so much pride in what is theirs.

The Izzallow

Over Rosh Hashana we had some friends stay over. Meet Israel, or "Izzy" he and Yakov bonded. Yakov made Izzy his pillow. We never saw Yakov do that with anyone. It was so cute. He just climbed up on him and got cozy.

Baby Corn

The other day I gave the boys baby corn. They thought it was so funny and then they asked "Mommy where is daddy corn? Is he on a trip?"

School Begins

For a year and a half the boys have all been going to Bubbies House, a daycare in westwood. They love it there and I love it too! They come home singing new songs and with new skills that I have not taught them. It is fascinating to watch them grow.

Over the summer we played at the pool and the boys would count to ten before jumping in. It was then I saw that they had learned to count to 10 in Hebrew! All 3 of them!

The artwork they produce is pretty impressive too! I get 3 of everything. So for Rosh Hashana I received 3 cards, 3 honey plates, 3 shofar paintings, 3 3D pictures of apples dipped in honey and 3 prayer books. Quite a collection. Not including the traditional crayon on paper coloring book excerpts.

We increased their hours and enhanced their experience there starting last week. Now they go from 9-3:30 instead of 9:30-1. What a difference. They divided the kids up at the daycare so that the 3 & 4 yr olds could learn more at their level and the 2 yr olds at theirs and then the babies have a far less structured day. Yakov was pretty disappointed this was the first time he has been separated from his brothers. Whats really funny is that the 3 & 4 yr olds call themselves the "Big Kids" The only major difference is that the 2yr olds still have a nap and the "Big Kids" have quiet time with books or quiet toys.

They learn so much. They daven in the morning so they are learning their prayers, they know all the brachot for food. Best of all they are fed lunch. So all I pack in the morning are 3 mitzvah notes. 3 post-its that give credit to each of them for a particular mitzvah they did, like "Dear Morah, Avi got dressed all by himself before waking up mommy. Love Mommy"

This daily freedom is only temporary as I am due with boy #4 in December. So til then I will enjoy my free time to do food shopping, make dinner, go to a pre-natal yoga class or have a coffee or lunch with a friend. In 3 months time I will have a newborn to keep me busy. By the time the kids come home its almost 4 and bedtime is 7. We run a tight ship here but it works!

a quiet moment

we put on a nature dvd and the boys passed out!

Jaime's Mommy Memos
